The best sofa i’ve ever purchased
After shopping around at several local furniture stores I did not like any of the sofas,I started to look online when I found dreamsofas.com. The website service and phone service was A++ with helping me find and build what I was looking for. After ordering the sofa there is a long way to receive it but it was well worth it. The sofa was everything I was looking for,the local contractors who delivered the sofa to me were outstanding and prompt. And the sofa is extremely comfortable with great fabric. And well-made.

I just moved to San Jose and had to get some furniture ASAP. The customer service at Rose Furniture was awesome, they spent a lot of time with me, going through tons of catalogs to get me exactly what I wanted. I ordered a Zurich Queen Bed, the delivery and assembly was very prompt. The bed looks awesome in my bedroom, a dark cherry, low platform, similar to japanese style. I recommended the store to my neighbor who also just moved in and he got a bed as well.

What an exceptional company to do business with! We had a sofa and 2 arm chairs made, they are gorgeous! After after four or five months a button became loose on one of the tufted seat cushions on the sofa; I called the store and Ray asked if he could personally come over to our home and repair it himself. The following day he came over, made the repair and asked if we would mind if he had all of the cushions (seats and backs) retufted and have new and more firm filling made because he felt that the cushions weren’t up to Rose Designs standards. You could only imagine my response and pleasure Less than 2 weeks later Ray personally returned with the repaired cushions. THEY ARE GORGEOUS AND PERFECT! Thank you Ray for your outstanding customer service and impeccable products! We are loyal Rose Designs customers and are proud to refer customers at any opportunity.

I ordered a custom Skye couch from Dream Sofa in Royale Cobalt with a wood trim base, and had the pleasure of working with Jeff throughout the sales process. The couch I wanted wasn’t on their standard menu, but Jeff was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the custom order. We exchanged dozens of emails before settling on the final design, and he was always patient even when I was being indecisive. Since this was a custom piece, he also provided plenty of example photos of similar couches to help visualize how mine would turn out, which made a huge difference.
The sofa took a few months to arrive, which was longer than I initially expected. However, for a custom made piece, the extra wait was understandable, and in the end, it was absolutely worth it. I would definitely recommend budgeting in extra time if you're ordering something custom.
When the couch was delivered, there was a mix-up with the base trim color. To be fair, I had mentioned the other color earlier in the process, so I could see how the confusion happened. Fortunately, Karla (the CARE specialist from Dream Sofa) stepped in immediately after I reported the issue. She was incredibly responsive and got a replacement base sent out to me quickly. She also coordinated with an installer who came to my home and swapped out the base for the correct one.
Even though Dream Sofa only sells online directly to customers, I’m extremely happy with how this couch turned out without seeing it in person. The quality and level of customer service far exceeded what I would’ve received from a big box store. I’m excited to order from them again and explore even more customizations.

We ordered the 86” Alton sleeper sofa upholstered in Catalina Ivory, with the Queen size “Dream” mattress and “Wave” medium comfort. We are very pleased with our overall experience with Dream Sofa. Our rep, Veronica, was very responsive and answered our questions promptly. Overall satisfaction 4/5. We’ve had the sofa 4 months. It took 7 weeks to receive the sofa since we placed the order. Purchased the Chicago sofa in Avenger Driftwood.
Cushions: I bought the plush cushions based on online info about them being the most durable. They are VERY firm, which I expected. They haven’t “broken in” much or become much softer, which I guess is a point toward their longevity, but at the same time I was hoping they’d become a bit softer and more comfortable with time.
Fabric color: I ordered 2 rounds of fabric swatches and spoke with Ryan on the phone before deciding on Avenger Driftwood. The colors on the website do not reflect the actual colors of the swatches. I asked if there were any pictures of Avenger Driftwood on an actual sofa and was told no. I had a hard time visualizing what the small swatch would look like on an actual sofa and wish I would have been able to see photos before making my decision. I told Ryan I wanted something that leaned more beige than gray, but Avenger Driftwood definitely appears more gray in person.
Fabric quality: The sofa pills like CRAZY. From what I’ve read online, pilling is not an indication of fabric quality per se (they say even high quality furniture fabric may pill), which might be true from how manufacturers define fabric quality. As the consumer, the pilling drives me nuts and has a big impact on how the fabric looks. My photo is after spending ~45 min vacuuming and using a fabric shaver. There are already some snags on the fabric (I’m guessing from the fabric shaver). If I had to predict, I think the longevity of the couch overall is going to be defined by the fabric wearing out versus construction or cushions.
Overall: Overall I like the couch. I am not in love with it. Most of my complaints are on me for taking the risk of buying a couch I couldn’t sit on or see real life photos of beforehand. I hope this review helps others to have realistic expectations! The construction seems great and I liked that it was made in the US. If a friend asked for a sofa recommendation, I would recommend Dreamsofa with the caveat to try to see photos of actual manufactured sofas of the style and fabric before ordering.

UPDATE Feb. 2025: Karla took care of us! My concerns were the baggy cushions and softness of the seat, after we upgraded. We lived with it and gave it a good chance, but just got worse with time. She arranged to send us new cushions for both the seat and back of the sofa and that did the trick! No more looking like a really old couch. It firmed up nicely, no more having to get up and trying to smooth things out to look decent again, it just bounces back. I am a little older and now it is easy to get up and off v.s. before. Dream Sofa took care of us, free of charge, and most of the "white glove" shipping. She agreed to a price I could afford to make this right to have new cushions sent. She also sent a video on how to get the new cases on, but I found a better way. Just turn inside out, and then make sure you line it up properly and reverse it and pull it over. It's still some work, but the not the struggle it was tying like the video. Each bottom seat took about 8 minutes to put on and zip. The seams are sewn really well. Have a buddy help you zip. The nylon zipper I feel is the weakest link of the couch, but with patience and 2 people you should be able to get it done. Thank you Dream Sofa and especially Karla for making this right and not a regret!
We ordered the 77" Paris sofa in Durham Lime Green. We went with the Wave comfort level. We are really impressed with the whole process from start to finish and customer service was the best, especially Karla with following up in both phone calls and in emails. Delivery was exceptional and living out of state was tax free, which was a plus! The sofa was extremely well made and comfortable. I had concerns of the fabric and they were exceptional with answering my questions and also keeping a file for future reference. If doing it over, I would have probably chose the firm cushions, just me having it here, but the medium is fine. I added the striped pillows, and the cat haha, (not included) A+ in quality and A++ in customer service! January 2024 update...The material seems to be baggy on the bottom cushions in the center and don't have the bounce back it once had and back cushions are loosing their shape, going more to the round than rectangular shape. The back cushions are not a formed pillow, rather just fiberfill and tend to round out, the bottom seat is not as firm as I'd like it to be having upgraded, and compresses when you sit on it. While it's still comfortable, it needs flipping and smoothing to make it look nice, starting to sit lower than I had anticipated.
January 2025 Working with Karla, she reached out and addressed the issues we are having and solving the problem. Customer service is top notch and they do listen. I will update with new photos and review soon once we get it all fixed. Karla is the best!!

Karla was amazing helping me navigate a solution. She was consistent and communicative in trying to schedule around the holidays. I’m so grateful for her efforts and incredibly pleased with my new couch! This is absolutely a well-crafted, heirloom piece of furniture. ☺️

We had many troubles along the way, but this company is young, learning, and excellent to work with. LOVE our couch and I would recommend this company (and their product) to anyone. Oh!! …and if you run into ANY trouble post order, you need to talk to Karla. She’s the one of the best customer service folks I’ve ever come across.

We recently got our Brussels sofa in the Royale Cobalt fabric, it is absolutely beautiful, we love it, I don't have pictures yet because we are painting our living room, but as soon as I get them I will upload them, I just wanted to thank all the DreamSofa team for the amazing experience, as we were a bit hesistant to buy an online product, however, we are very pleased and we look forward to enjoy our piece for years to come!
**Update: My living room is all done, this is the star of the star of teh room. this fabric is amazing!! I love it.

We ordered the James sectional, and this is a phenomenal piece of furniture!!! The quality of this sectional is unmatched. Karla's customer service was amazing, she was attentive in her communication and paid attention to every detail of our messages to her. This couch is everything I envisioned and hoped it would be!! I got a custom U-shaped Alton (they don't advertise being able to customize the layout on the website, but to do so you just need to set up an appointment with one of their designers). I chose the Durham-Tangerine fabric. It is super vibrant and the texture is soft and cozy. The legs on this couch are Espresso, but basically look black in reality which I'm cool with. As for the comfort level, this is where it was crucial you speak with a designer. I definitely wanted it to be soft but also hold up as long as it could over time. In my initial phone call with the designer, she mentioned that the "plush" level with the built in springs would probably be a bit firm for what I was looking for and kind of stay that way forever. She recommended the medium level named "the wave" and I am very pleased with the softness 10 days into owning it. It was a little bit bouncy when I received it, but as it breaks in, it's nice and comfy. The overall build quality is very good and holds up to the $5.5k price tag, no disappointments in that department. I first spoke with a designer on 7/15, ordered on 7/29, and ended up receiving the couch on 9/20. My only gripe: all communication/correspondence after the initial phone call with the designer felt like pulling teeth. This includes both before and after I placed the order. I ordered the couch two pretty excruciatingly long weeks after first speaking with the designer. I would email a few questions to them, and no matter when I sent it, they would always reply at about 4:30pm the next business day. This happened 4-5 times wrapping up details before clicking order. It's a big investment, I had questions and tweaks to make like anyone else would have, but a second phone call or a dedicated customer support team for this would have made it 5x faster. I often forwarded my email to their support email to get my message replied to. I wanted to order my couch asap because I knew it would take a while, but when I had to wait one or two business days after every email, it got frustrating quickly. Ok, so fast forward to when the couch was done and ready to ship from their factory in LA. I knew it shouldn't be more than a few days to reach me in Vegas. Their customer service told me the local delivery company would call me one week prior to the delivery date to coordinate the right time so I can be home and receive the white glove service. I ended up being called the morning before it was delivered. Luckily, my wife was going to be home during the 7-9am window they gave us, so it was super short notice but obviously we were stoked to finally see it. Overall, amazing couch. Very disappointing customer service. 5 stars because it's all about the product I received, and I'll have this beautiful couch for years and years! If you are ok with waiting a while, I really don't see any reason why you wouldn't love your Dreamsofa like I do.

I chose the Durham-Tangerine fabric. It is super vibrant and the texture is soft and cozy. The legs on this couch are Espresso, but basically look black in reality which I'm cool with. As for the comfort level, this is where it was crucial you speak with a designer. I definitely wanted it to be soft but also hold up as long as it could over time. In my initial phone call with the designer, she mentioned that the "plush" level with the built in springs would probably be a bit firm for what I was looking for and kind of stay that way forever. She recommended the medium level named "the wave" and I am very pleased with the softness 10 days into owning it. It was a little bit bouncy when I received it, but as it breaks in, it's nice and comfy. The overall build quality is very good and holds up to the $5.5k price tag, no disappointments in that department. I first spoke with a designer on 7/15, ordered on 7/29, and ended up receiving the couch on 9/20. My only gripe: all communication/correspondence after the initial phone call with the designer felt like pulling teeth. This includes both before and after I placed the order. I ordered the couch two pretty excruciatingly long weeks after first speaking with the designer. I would email a few questions to them, and no matter when I sent it, they would always reply at about 4:30pm the next business day. This happened 4-5 times wrapping up details before clicking order. It's a big investment, I had questions and tweaks to make like anyone else would have, but a second phone call or a dedicated customer support team for this would have made it 5x faster. I often forwarded my email to their support email to get my message replied to. I wanted to order my couch asap because I knew it would take a while, but when I had to wait one or two business days after every email, it got frustrating quickly. Ok, so fast forward to when the couch was done and ready to ship from their factory in LA. I knew it shouldn't be more than a few days to reach me in Vegas. Their customer service told me the local delivery company would call me one week prior to the delivery date to coordinate the right time so I can be home and receive the white glove service. I ended up being called the morning before it was delivered. Luckily, my wife was going to be home during the 7-9am window they gave us, so it was super short notice but obviously we were stoked to finally see it. Overall, amazing couch. Very disappointing customer service. 5 stars because it's all about the product I received, and I'll have this beautiful couch for years and years! If you are ok with waiting a while, I really don't see any reason why you wouldn't love your Dreamsofa like I do.

The Royale velvet fabric is very thick and has an amazing softness that's hard to resist running your hand over. I opted for the plush cushions and the luxe bed. I'm very pleased with the plush cushions, but I'd probably opt for a foam mattress if I were to do this again, as the bed support is already very springy. I was able to get a quick response when I reached out, but it still made me nervous that I couldn't see the order status for myself. Since my review, they've reached out and let me know that this issue with their new ordering system is being resolved. It's worth the wait. I'm glad I paid a premium for a custom couch with higher end materials and fabrics. It should last a very long time.

Incredibly pleased with my purchase! I ordered the Brussels sectional sleeper sofa with Sorrento Denim upholstery and have never been more impressed with the quality. It even smells like fresh cut wood from the frame. I am really glad I gave this company a try and I hope to hold on to this couch for many years to come.

We had the pleasure of working with Ryan and Karla. Their design team sent a selection of materials based on photos of the space, decor we were planning, and the sofa we were replacing.
I highly recommend spending the extra money for the spring core cushions. I have little doubt this couch will still be comfortable and in good shape 8-10 years from now. When I compare the sofa we received with similarly priced options from traditional furniture retailers, I am blown away at what DreamSofa delivered. This is not simply another direct to consumer brand cutting costs by selling direct; they take quality seriously and have actually tested the hundreds of materials they offer. Construction is sound and sturdy, delivery was much faster than promised in my case (I'm not terribly far from LA).
I think the secret has gotten out about this company and they are REALLY busy, but if you are patient and don't mind a bit of back and forth during design and ordering, it is really worth the time. Our sofa is the showpiece of our living room and really makes our home feel special.

We ordered the 70” Cannes Sofa Sleeper in Catalina Silver about a week after Thanksgiving 2023 and our order was delivered on 2/2/24. Given the holidays I was not troubled by that slightly longer than promised timeframe. I ordered “the wave/medium” comfort cushions, the full luxe bed with luxe mattress. The couch is great, so high quality and the color/fabric was exactly as the swatch we chose. The cushions are firm (what we wanted) and perfect for a home office that will rarely but sometimes be used for an extra guest bedroom. I dealt with Marissa for the order, Veronica on the delivery and Karla at the end. All three were very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We had a slight concern over the luxe mattress (an upgrade) not being as comfortable as we had hoped. Karla suggested letting the mattress be open for 24 hours to puff up a bit and I do think it helped. She was also nice enough to ship a mattress topper to alleviate our concerns. If the bed portion of the sofa is a concern, you might go one more level up. I think with the topper and a plush mattress pad it will be fine considering it will only be used a few times a year anyway. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from Dream Sofa again!

We got the Brussels Sofa with Prisma-Hydrate color and the firm cushions. It is quite comfortable. Delivery was smooth and sofa looks very sturdy. Will update this in a year or so if I remember.

She walked me through the various steps and how each aspect is customized to enhance and refine each piece from color/fabric, length and comfort level. There were over 15 different fabrics choices in my fabric collection we went over and I settled on the off-snow white with a soft eggshell tinge and it sure is Divine.
Production time frame was around 3 weeks after which I received the tracking number and my beautiful custom sofa was delivered in 10 days. I am over the moon thrilled with my decision. I have shipped furniture for multiple homes and this was the most delightfully seamless and lovely design experience I've ever had, and I designed my living room around my beautiful couch. 😉

We went around to the local furniture stores looking for a sectional couch. We were quite shocked on the initial cost that we were quoted on. Dealing with our designer who sent us the DreamSofa link to have a look at a sectionals. Our interior designer told us that she has dealt with and received many positive responses from her clients about DreamSofa. Upon ordering a bunch of fabrics samples we decided on a sectional that met our size and details. The ordering process was seamless any questions that we had Veronica of dreamsofa was more than happy to answer any concerns. What we liked about it was all the little custom details we were able to get. We also chose the white glove delivery service which was again no issues. They sent an email before on the day that it was supposed to be delivered with approximate time and the delivery service called 10 minutes before they were to arrive. What we also liked about the company was that every piece is custom-made in California and then they shipped it to the northeast for delivery to our area in New York. Timeframe was very quick considering we heard some of the stories of it taken six months or more. Once delivered and set up we couldn’t be more happy with our selection. The look and comfort was excellent.

After two separate orders of free fabric swatches and multiple emails with my own furniture consultant, I ordered a custom sofa with chaise with the most stunning green velvet fabric. We’ve had the sofa for a week and it is now the most popular spot in the whole house! It is equally loved by my husband, my beagle, and my teenage son. The amount of customization is staggering— allowing you to create the perfect piece for your home. Communication during the production process was clear and timely. Delivery was seamless. I cannot recommend DreamSofa any more highly.

I could not find what I needed for this oddly shaped room. I looked forever and thankfully landed on DreamSofa.com. They had all these options for fabric, softness, shape, configuration, everything. Of course, I needed everything...I mean the front door opens onto the living room couch! Ryan and Kiara helped me work out all the details, and made sure I was happy with my choices, and then in a few weeks this lovely piece arrived. It'd better than I could have hoped for. It complements the space so well, is cozy, yet chic. It fits everyone and is inviting. You can just feel that it's gonna last forever and I'm just so excited I found you guys. What I have to say, you just gotta trust me on this! DreamSofa is the place to go! I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve walked in and out of Crate & Barrel, or Potterybarn, or even Ikea with absolutely no luck in what I was looking for. Many styles were close, or I saw something on one sofa, that I liked, yet didn’t like the legs on it. It was as if I wanted to merge all of these little details into one and I couldn’t do that there!
That’s where I did some heavy research, and after reading the reviews and studying their website, DreamSofa was it, almost too good to be true!
I immediately called them up, to get a better idea of what I could design! I was scheduled with Monica, one of their designers to learn more about what I was getting myself into! After explaining what I was looking for, Monica was so great at letting me know that every aspect of the sofa, from the construction of the piece, to the fabrics, to the comfort of cushions, was something I personally got to customize! It was amazing to know I could find details in so many different styles they had and put it together in one. I fell in love with the Milan Sofa, but didn’t like the legs it came with. I was told I’d be able to customize and choose the legs from their Brussels style sofa to fit the Milan no problem! It was unreal, and such a great time designing my sofa! At the end the real winner was The Athens style! You can see how lovely they are, they really complete the room! I love my sofa and two matching chairs. A true cloud like seat 🙂

I walked in, was there 5 mins, and Milan knew exactly what I was looking for in my headboard! Th price was right, the material was gorg, the customer service was stellar! Rose Design even arranges for their crew to bring the heardboard/furniture to your place and they put it together and take away the old stuff for you! I would go back again for more furniture, this place is top quality with excellent customer service!

There’s not much sense going anywhere else than Rose Design Fine Furniture for my next couch.
I needed a sofa bed for my spare bedroom for a last minute visit by a family member from out of town. I checked a couple of local furniture stores that had sofa beds but they couldn’t deliver the sofa bed in the short timeframe (two to three days) that I needed it. Ray at Rose Design showed me a perfect sofa bed that met my needs and said he would insure delivery before my need date. Rose Design not only delivered my sofa couch from their Modesto location a day earlier than I needed it but they carried it up three flights of stairs and assembled it in less than an hour. This kind of customer service is unfortunately lacking in many retail stores. Fortunately for me, Rose Design subscribes to this kind of service for all their customers. When the dust clears I need to replace the full size couch for my living room in the next several months. With the type of support that Rose Design demonstrated for my last minute request noted above, there’s not much sense going anywhere else than Rose Design Fine Furniture for my next couch.

Awesome place! I would definitely recommend rose design to my friends and family.
We visited this place based on Yelp reviews and we loved it. We bought a sofa and two accent chairs from here. The owners are super nice and knowledgable. My husband has back pain and they were able to recommend the right height and cushioning level. We spent close to 2 hours and they patiently walked us through all the options and trying out various combinations to get the right height and depth. They custom made the accent chairs slightly different to accommodate both of our needs. Awesome place! We are enjoying our sofa. I would definitely recommend rose design to my friends and family.
